Horsetalk Riding Farm has been using bus shelter signage to generate business in the Lismore area for approximately 4 years now. In the beginning, Horsetalk developed through “word of mouth” advertising and some newspaper adverts but as we grew we realised that we needed a media with a more consistant impact so we took on our first bus shelter sign. Although Brett tried to educate us on the layout and wording of the sign we felt we knew our business and how to promote it better than he did so we did it our way. For the first 12 months we really didn’t see any increase in business and felt that it was still word of mouth which was working for us and we started to loose faith in the idea therefore, I called to cancel the sign.

During that final discussion Brett kept saying that our sign was “to busy”, and motorist didn’t have time to obsorbe the content but to me it was saying everything I wanted it to say until a few days later I thought that he may have a point. I called him back and eventually we worked up a very informative and short content that said everything and motorist could read it quickly. The phone started ringing again and when surveying our callers on “where did they get our number”, it was obviouse that the sign was working.  We then felt that if that one sign was delivering one message so effectively and we had so many more services to promote,  we should take another shelter and promote another service so with Brett’s help we layed it out properly and it worked again and so on and so on until now we have 4 signs working for us.

In short we have found this method of advertising to be professional, very cost effective and working for us 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. The team at Sidewinder including their sign writer Garry, really know how to put this together to present your business. It literally “pays” to listen to them.
